    VICTORIA, Texas - On May 8, Marc Anthony Guerrero, 34, was booked into the Brazoria County Jail on assault charges related to a May 7 incident in Victoria. On May 16 the Victoria County District Attorney's Office filed a motion to revoke Guerrero's 2022 probated sentence.  Guerrero is facing charges including aggravated assault with a weapon involving family causing serious bodily injury and assault family violence by choking. An emergency order of protection is in place to protect the victim.

    VICTORIA, Texas - On Friday, May 23, around 1:15 p.m., a Victoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over Judd Koehl, 52, in the 5900 block of Houston Highway. The deputy made contact with Koehl and confirmed Koehl had an active warrant for four counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury. Koehl was taken into custody and transported to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office.

    GANADO, Texas - The City of Ganado is mourning the loss of its fire chief. In a Facebook post, the city wrote:"We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow firefighters on the passing of Ganado Fire Chief Bernard Scott. Thank you for your dedication and service to our community. Rest easy, Bernard. Job well done."Chief Bernard’s Facebook page shows he was 51 and a 1993 graduate of Ganado High School. He served as a firefighter and EMT since 2003.

    FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas - A traffic stop in Fayette County turned into a major human smuggling bust on Monday, May 20, 2025. Sheriff Keith Korenek said around 12:50 p.m., authorities pulled over a white Ford F-250 hauling a gooseneck trailer loaded with round hay bales near mile marker 658 on IH-10, close to Flatonia. Upon closer inspection, deputies found the hay bales had been carefully hollowed out and fitted with metal frameworks to create hidden compartments.
