VICTORIA, Texas - Around 11 a.m. Sunday, a woman was attacked by honeybees at a home in the 700 block of Mistletoe Avenue near North Navarro and Holly streets. The woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK. Three professional beekeepers were still at the scene at 1 p.m., trying to contain and calm the honeybees. There are reports that a dog died in the incident.

VICTORIA, Texas - Victoria voters will soon decide the fate of a proposed venue tax that would help fund major renovations to the City of Victoria's community center without raising property taxes. The proposal, appearing on ballots as Proposition A, would establish a 5% tax on short-term vehicle rentals and increase the hotel occupancy tax from 7% to 9%. These measures aim to generate a portion of the $15 million needed for comprehensive community center upgrades.

VICTORIA, Texas - On May 28, 2014, Haley Singer was killed when her home exploded. Her memory lives on through the Haley Singer Memorial Golf Tournament at the Victoria Country Club at 14 Spring Creek Rd. The Texas Tech Alumni Association puts on the tournament every year. On June 7 supporters will help raise scholarship money for students who attend Texas Tech in Lubbock. There's also a silent auction. Registration is $175 per person or $600 for a team of four.

VICTORIA, Texas — Just as friends and family members thought jury selection was underway in the murder trial of Fernando Acosta Jr., the court reset the case for a status conference on July 17, 2025. The suspect in the murder of Amanda Johnson, was indicted on June 21, 2021. Acosta was in court Monday and again Tuesday.
