    A garage on the main road through Broughty Ferry is closing down. National Tyres and Autocare has been operating out of the building on the corner of Queen Street and Fort Street for many years. However, the garage – part of a chain owned by Halfords – will close in the coming weeks. Halfords says workers are being offered alternative roles where possible. The garage building is already on the market for sale or lease.

    Motorists are facing delays on the Queensferry Crossing after a two-vehicle crash. Emergency services were called to the M90 southbound just after the Rosyth junction in Fife at around 5.40pm on Sunday. Transport Scotland advised that the slip road at junction 1B southbound remains closed. The northbound side was unaffected. It’s understood there is at least one casualty at the scene. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

    Former footballer Ally McCoist had cricket fans stumped as he stepped in as wicketkeeper at Elie beach. The former Rangers star and popular TV pundit was on the team sheet for the clash between The Ship Inn Cricket Club and Kilmacolm. Avid cricket fan McCoist represented the west coast team as beach cricket got underway on Saturday. The Ship Inn is the only pub in Britain with its own cricket team that plays on the beach.
