The two powerhouses will meet for all the marbles Saturday night at Wagner College’s Hameline Field, Grymes Hill (6:30 p.m.) with the 2A title on the line. It’s the fourth time the two school’s have met for the title as the defending champion Pirates will be gunning for back-to-back championships and Wagner will be looking to regain the crown it last won in 2023.

BRONX, N.Y. -- The mission was completed, and for the third straight year and fourth time in the last five seasons the Cardinal Dolan CHSAA AA Archdiocesan Championship trophy lands on Staten Island. This time, St. Joseph by-the-Sea received a gutty, complete-game effort from junior righty John Gano to turn the tables on Iona Prep, 6-1, and capture the title at breezy Fordham University’s Jack Coffey Field.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island once again is taking the PSAL flag football scene by storm. For the third consecutive year three teams from the borough have advanced to the PSAL 2A semifinals via big quarterfinal triumphs. Top-seeded and defending champ Tottenville demolished ninth-seed Clinton, 39-0; Susan Wagner, the No. 3 seed coasted past JFK, 33-0; and 10th-seeded New Dorp took care of No. 2 Bayside, 13-6, in overtime to advance.

CSI/McCown coasted to a 33-0 thrashing of defending PSAL 1A champion Townsend Harris in a second-round playoff game Wednesday in New Springville. The Dragons, who received a first-round bye, are back in action again Friday evening at home (5 p.m.) when they host No. 9 Eleanor Roosevelt with a berth in the semifinals on the line. ER defeated Queens Tech, 30-6, to advance.

Tottenville, Susan Wagner and New Dorp all got off to solid starts with wins Tuesday in the PSAL 2A quarterfinals and have advanced to Thursday’s quarters. The top-seeded Pirates dusted off No. 17 Queens HS Complex, 19-2, in Huguenot and will host No. 9 Clinton (12-6 winner over John Jay) Thursday. Wagner, the third seed, drilled No. 14 Midwood, 47-0, in Sea View. The Falcons will host JFK Campus, the six seed, on Thursday.
