The win catapults the defending Intersectional champion Eagles into Monday’s winners’ bracket final against Archbishop Molloy at Fordham University, the Bronx. The Stanners advanced via a 10-5 win over Iona Prep.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- CSI/McCown went wire-to-wire as league leader in the PSAL 1A division and the New Springville school capped off a perfect season with a convincing 24-8 triumph over Lafayette HS to capture the city championship at Wagner College’s Hameline Field, Grymes Hill. The championship is the first city title in any sport for the school, now in its 17th year of existence.

Coach Joe Sarno led his Pirates to a convincing 21-6 triumph over archrival and fellow PSAL flag stalwart Susan Wagner in the finale this year with a methodical, mistake-free takedown Saturday night at Wagner College’s Hameline Field, Grymes Hill.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- St. Joseph by-the-Sea and St. Peter’s -- combined winners of four of the last five CHSAA Archdiocesan titles -- will lock horns for the third time this season in the CHSAA Intersectionals as the pair of Island rivals registered opening-round victories in the double-elimination tournament Thursday afternoon. The top-seeded Vikings advanced via an 8-6 decision over No. 8 St. Raymond’s in Huguenot, while the fifth-seeded Eagles won a marathon at No. 4 Stepinac in White Plains.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Death, taxes and Tottenville-Susan Wagner in the PSAL flag finale. Just a couple of guarantees in life. The two powerhouses will meet for all the marbles Saturday night at Wagner College’s Hameline Field, Grymes Hill (6:30 p.m.) with the 2A title on the line. It’s the fourth time the two school’s have met for the title as the defending champion Pirates will be gunning for back-to-back championships and Wagner will be looking to regain the crown it last won in 2023.
