PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It may officially be summer, but spring-like vibes continued around our region Saturday as much of the Willamette Valley saw daytime highs only reach the mid-50s. And while we continued to see well below normal daytime highs, those cooler afternoon temperatures were also met with soaking rain at times. As for the rain gauges around Portland, we totaled over three-quarters of an inch of rain by 9 p.m. Saturday.

And as we head into this new week, Monday and Tuesday will be very similar to Sunday with daytime highs ranging from the mid to upper 70s with mostly sunny skies yet again. Keeping an eye on the Rowena Fire, Sunday’s west winds calmed down a bit to help out with the fire-fighting efforts.

After maxing out at 86 degrees Friday in PDX, highs returned to the upper 60s and low 70s up and down much of the I-5 corridor Saturday. We also saw a few more clouds in the mix and breezy or even windy conditions in areas across the PNW. The Dalles saw peak wind gusts at 49 mph. PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Jadyn Pense is one name people are about to hear more and more of as she continues to dominate in high school girls wrestling — not just here in Oregon, but nationally as well. After talking with Pense, who is just a high school sophomore, it’s clear she has such a balance with her strong confidence but humble nature. She has plenty to be confident about when it comes to what she’s already accomplished on the mat.
