The 64 young men of HMS Triumph shared a remarkable 36 medals for bravery before they vanished without trace in the Aegean Sea in January 1942. But HMS Triumph has now been found, with her crew sealed in the tomb of their sunken sub 666ft below the surface.

These alarming images show just how close the North Sea is to swallowing up houses and holiday homes on the crumbling coast of East YorkshireDrone pictures show some properties are now just a few feet from crashing into the sand and sea with little hope of saving them from the waves. In one case a resident in Withernsea used a tape measure to show the 90cm gap of land which is all that is left keeping a holiday chalet from the drop.

It looms from a hilltop on the hills above the east coast of Yorkshire, a huge grey concrete pyramid pointing ominously towards the sky. Red signs warn that anyone entering the windswept site can be arrested under the Official Secrets Act. A wire security fence is topped with an 8,000 volt electric line. The vast concrete structure can just be seen from the road nearby which carries day-trippers to the seaside resort of Scarborough. Embedded on its three faces are more than 7,000 antenna.
