A DJ who launched a GoFundMe page hours after appearing in court for stealing a £22,000 fishing boat in Fife has thousands of pounds in his bank account to start repaying his victim, it has emerged. Martin Dickson, who is from Glastonbury but has links to Scotland, was back in the dock this week after being told last month by a sheriff he needed to find £10,000 to compensate the boat owner.

A jury has found a Kirkcaldy man guilty of abusing two former partners. Logan Smith, 23, stood trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and was convicted of two charges of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour. The indictment lists 15 elements of abuse against one woman and 17 concerning his second victim. Smith, of Glamis Road, slapped the first woman in the face and seized and compressed her neck, restricting her breathing, in a life-endangering attack.

A raging neighbour attacked his Fife rival with garden shears after he cut his home CCTV cable. Jamie Mathewson claimed clothes and a TV had been stolen from his Methil home and that the neighbour had tipped off the perpetrators by using his camera to check the property was unoccupied. Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard Mathewson went round to cut the camera cable before a scuffle broke out and he tried to close the shears on his victim’s hand.

A Fife paedophile had more than 50 unsolicited photos of schoolgirls and stashed hundreds of sick child abuse images and videos on his phones, a court has heard. Alexander Hope’s devices were seized by police after he was caught sending sexual messages to a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl. The 38-year-old was actually speaking to an adult from a paedophile hunter group, pretending to be a child.

A former secondary school teacher who sent vile videos of himself to ex-pupils has been given a community sentence. Gilles Brown, a former history and modern studies teacher, was earlier convicted after a trial of sending lewd videos to three young women. Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard previously all three followed him on social media after they left school.
