A former superyacht worker who admitted to kidnapping and intimidating his ex-girlfriend blamed a "perfect storm" of circumstances which led to his "reprehensible" behaviour, his lawyer told a Sydney court. Ethan Davis pleaded guilty to six charges on Wednesday, including kidnapping, using a carriage service to harass, intimidation, threatening to distribute an intimate image, using an offensive weapon and possessing MDMA.

A woman who endured a string of domestic violence offences by a NSW Police officer has told a court of her "constant emotional turmoil" and lingering trauma, saying the "betrayal cuts deeper" because of the uniform he once wore. Jonathan Charles Bettles pleaded guilty to 14 charges in December, which were committed over a period of about 18 months to mid-2021 against a woman with whom he was in a relationship.

A man charged with 53 hate-related offences including the alleged spray painting of Nazi symbols through Sydney's inner west has been denied bail after a magistrate said a jail sentence is "likely" if he is found guilty. Felix Kiera was arrested earlier this month over the alleged vandalism spree, which resulted in charges including 21 counts of drawing Nazi symbols and 23 charges of destroying or damaging property.
