The second half of Charlottesville's popular Fridays After Five concert series will begin July 4 with headlining band Kendall Street Company and Theocles opening the show. Ting Pavilion on the city's Downtown Mall has released the lineup of free concerts from the nation's birthday through Sept. 5 which promise to give revelers a chance to mingle, unwind and start the weekend a little early.

Members of Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick who'll spend Saturday volunteering at the Grace Church Historic Farm Tour know better than to assume they can sneak into Sunday's worship service unnoticed. That's because planning for next year's fundraiser already has begun. "They know that if they talk to me, they'll get an assignment," Barbara Crawford, co-chairwoman of this year's tour of stately Keswick farms and historic properties, told The Daily Progress.
