Fourth of July fireworks are coming back to Charlottesville. The Cville Spectacular plans to bring an 18-minute fireworks display back to Carter Mountain just south of the city to celebrate the nation's 249th birthday. It will also be building support from local governments, the business community and local fireworks fans in hopes of keeping the rockets' red glare bright for future Independence Day celebrations after Carter Mountain went without a pop or a bang for two years in a row.

If it's springtime in Central Virginia, there's simply no excuse to be bored. Festivals are serving up homemade cider and homegrown flowers. More musical options are heading outdoors. And while the temperatures will keep swinging from hot to cold for a little while longer, summer will be here before we know it. There's so much to do this time of year that pacing yourself can be a challenge, so building in downtime is a good idea.
