Recently, I spent several days at a cabin in West Virginia with a few men from church who I am blessed to call my friends and brothers. I was struck by the depth of conversation, the acknowledgement of sin, the love of Christ and His Scriptures, and the desire for continued sanctification. Yes, these things are needed by all Christians the world over, but it is vitally important for men as husbands, fathers, and leaders in the church and the world to desire these things.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Fire marshal Brett Lacey says the springs area knows firsthand how destructive wildfires can be. That is why CSFD has sent local resources to help with two of the newest fires in our state. “We no longer have a fire season, but we have a fire year,” Lacey said. Lacey has been fire marshal with the Colorado Springs Fire Department since 1998. Because of what’s happening north of the springs, local trucks have been sent trucks to several fires throughout the state.

Security, Colo. (KKTV) - A Colorado Springs man is recovering after his construction vehicle was struck not once but twice. The worker’s mom says it sounded like a bomb went off. There was a lot of heavy equipment on that site on a day with a lot of lightning. “It was like a big bomb and then all you see is smoke and it was a loud noise. Very loud noise,” Darla Wooden said. That’s how Wooden describes the sound that came from two lightning strikes that hit the truck her son was in.

She says she’s looking for unity in the Republican party. “One of the things as Americans we have to unify around the constitution we have got to put that in the forefront of everything because we do that everyone will have their rights,” Thompkins said.
