Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza has received no shortage of offseason buzz since arriving in Bloomington. The process will take some time, though, and no roles will be guaranteed as far as DeVries is concerned.

Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza still looks back fondly on his three years at Cal. If it weren't for the Golden Bears taking a chance on him in 2022, Mendoza would likely be at Yale right now, out of sight and out of mind playing in the Ivy League. If it weren't for the Golden Bears, Mendoza might not have exploded into one of the nation's top transfer quarterbacks and a rapidly-rising NFL Draft prospect.
