ELKHORN, Neb. (WOWT) - Wildfire smoke from western and central Canada made its way to the heartland Sunday. Conditions triggered the Douglas County Health Department to issue an air quality warning. "We switched to a northwest wind a couple of days ago, so that started to pull that down into our area," said First Alert 6 meteorologist Jaret Lansford.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Much like our Friday, our Saturday starts off with temperatures in the 50s. We'll also be looking at a day where we are in and out of the cloud cover with a little more of the consistent cloud deck staying over southeastern Nebraska. With a light southwest wind in place and a slightly warmer start in the metro, we should end up just a couple of degrees warmer for our highs as we land in the upper 70s.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Thursday starts off with spotty showers sweeping through the area. We don't expect those to be all that widespread or heavy as they move through. The bulk of those happen in the morning with rain chances ending by 10AM. The morning hours will also be breezy with gusts that could reach 25 miles per hour. A few gusts to 20 mph are possible into the afternoon as much drier air settles in too. Dew points will plummet on the muggy meter all day.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Your drive to and from work may take longer this week. Several new areas of work will be impacting travel on frequently used roads. 84th Street will have one lane travel northbound from L to F as fiber optic installation happens. This work will be happening between 9 AM and 3 PM daily; normal travel should take place during the morning and evening commutes. The work is scheduled to last for six weeks.

Sunshine will dominate through the rest of our Tuesday so don't forget the sunscreen if you will be out and about! Temps will also be much warmer than yesterday as we peak right near 90 degrees. Thankfully we will hold mugginess at bay. https://t.co/1KwpMucbA5
