Fair Oaks Ranch is in the process of constructing an elevated water storage tank, which would be the first water tower in the city. On April 3, City Council approved a resolution for the city manager to enter an agreement for the purchase of land from the city of Boerne, in the amount of $543,628. City Manager Scott Huizenga said the plans for an elevated water storage have been in the works since around 2008, and he is hopeful the project will begin within the next year.

The overviewWhile the area of Herff Road that is being developed is zoned for commercial and retail use, a SUP is needed due to the Starbucks having a drive-thru, which is not permitted to be abutting a residential property.

As work on a Buc-ee's location coming to the Boerne area continues to crawl forward, the project draws closer to being a reality around nine years in the making. While there has been movement at the site, located at the end of U.S. 87 off I-10, the development only has a grading permit, and will require further building permits and design approval before the store can go vertical.
