    HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Payton List’s three-run home run and Lily Romero’s two-RBI single helped lift James Madison to a 7-5 win against Southern Miss Friday night. Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Romero’s RBI single tied the game 2-2 before List blasted a go-ahead three-run home run to give the Dukes a 5-2 lead. After Southern Miss tied the game in the top of the fifth inning, JMU (21-21, 7-10) retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning thanks to Romero’s two-RBI single.

    HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Before the James Madison football program began their last week of spring practice, Bob Chesney gave his team an exercise. JMU’s head coach asked all of his players to write down three things they want to improve on in their final practices. The top answers would be the objectives for JMU to accomplish. “We just want to be very intentional at the end as we complete this. We don’t just want to just get to the finish line and call it a day,” said Chesney.

    BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) - Bridgewater’s softball team split a doubleheader against No. 12 Randolph-Macon on Tuesday afternoon. In Game 1, the Yellow Jackets scored nine runs on 11 hits to defeat the Eagles 9-1 in five innings. Kayla Davis went 3 for 3 at the plate for Randolph-Macon with a home run and five RBI. The Yellow Jackets’ Gracie Ellis pitched four innings, allowing just one hit and striking out six batters.
