Families in Limerick are set to benefit from a major boost to a local playground. Almost €16,000 in funding has been allocated to support the installation of inclusive play equipment and sensory panels in Askeaton playground. The €15,998 grant, announced under the Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation, is part of a €500,000 nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing playground accessibility and inclusivity. George Stacpoole of Ballysteen and Adare was a much-loved presence in the busy Limerick village, where he operated Stacpoole’s Antiques and Café. His passion for history, antiques, and conversation made his shop on Adare’s main thoroughfare a gathering place for over 40 years.
