The closure comes after inspectors cited major concerns about cleanliness and food safety. Upon inspection of Tasty at The Square, Dromcollogher, the inspector found food-related operations were being conducted in an outdoor alleyway exposed to foul sewer water. According to the FSAI report, inside the kitchen, inspectors found heavily stained floors, mouldy walls, grease-covered surfaces, and an accumulation of food debris.

Almost €16,000 in funding has been allocated to support the installation of inclusive play equipment and sensory panels in Askeaton playground. The €15,998 grant, announced under the Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation, is part of a €500,000 nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing playground accessibility and inclusivity. The funding will go towards equipment accessible for all children.

George Stacpoole of Ballysteen and Adare was a much-loved presence in the busy Limerick village, where he operated Stacpoole’s Antiques and Café. His passion for history, antiques, and conversation made his shop on Adare’s main thoroughfare a gathering place for over 40 years. Tributes have poured in from all who knew him as an avid historian and chatty café owner. One mourner shared: “George was a lovely, kind, funny and knowledgeable person, lovely to meet in the shop in Adare.

Noelle/August was last seen on Glentworth Street in Limerick city at approximately 2:25pm on Thursday afternoon. When last seen Noelle was wearing a red string top and black skirt. Gardaí and Noelle’s family are concerned for their welfare.
