STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The phrase “follow the science” might have a new meaning, especially if the borough’s brightest minds have it their way. Hundreds of Staten Island grade-schoolers got first-hand experience on Tuesday with the new interactive science exhibits at the Borough President’s Hall of Science at the Michael J. Petrides School in Sunnyside during the District 31 Science Expo.

RANDALL’S ISLAND, N.Y. – In an ultra-competitive PSAL City Championship, Susan Wagner represented the Island well, pacing the Island schools with a fourth-place finish for both the girls and the boys Sunday at Icahn Stadium. The Falcons’ Alex Acosta defended his own PSAL City Championship in the 110-high hurdles in 14.72, narrowly topping his teammate Jeremy Walters (14.77).

RANDALL’S ISLAND, N.Y. – With trips to the New York State Federation championships on the line, Staten Islanders came in clutch last Saturday at the CHSAA Intersectional Catholic State Championships at Icahn Stadium. St. Joseph by-Sea’s boys were the top finishers in team scoring, taking a surprising second place with 30 points, trailing only perennial powerhouse Fordham Prep’s 50.
