There was a man who routinely showed up to council meetings to foretell the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s crashing through the windows of old City Hall to arrest the mayor and others whom he alleged had colluded with now-Vice President Kamala Harris to embezzle millions through a bathroom project at Marine Stadium.

An art exhibit focused on the immigrant experience is coming to the Historical Society of Long Beach Friday

A new community art exhibit will open at the Historical Society of Long Beach on Friday and showcase the traditions and stories of immigrant communities in the city. The project is a collaboration between artist Jose Loza and Órale (Organizing Rooted in Abolition, Liberation and Empowerment), a community organization that advocates for undocumented residents.
Long Beach recognizes 100-year-old tree with ties to early city development

Long Beach officials recognized one of the city’s oldest known trees Tuesday morning during a ceremony at Stearns Champions Park in East Long Beach where a 100-year-old pepper tree will have a plaque mounted on it to note its historical significance. The park is part of the footprint of what was historically Rancho Los Alamitos, which was owned by Abel Stearns and later by the Bixby family.
