When the BYU Football Media Golf Classic was held a year ago at Cedar Hills Golf Club, word was already leaking out that the Cougars were going to be picked low in their second season in the Big 12. The theme that day as players and coaches met with reporters after a golf scramble was that the Cougars would start the campaign with a chip on their shoulder, and prove everybody wrong. They absolutely did that, finishing 11-2 and winning the Alamo Bowl.

When the kickoff times for four of BYU's 12 regular-season football games in 2025 were announced last month, head coach Kalani Sitake wasn't among those complaining about the late starts. Neither was new BYU athletic director Brian Santiago. In fact, the men spoke enthusiastically about the late-May news, mainly because three of those four games will be televised nationally by ESPN. "I like them all," Sitake said.

Kevin Young's first taste of being a head coach in the NBA came just after Christmas in 2021 when then-Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams was sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols. The associate head coach was eager to prove his worth to Suns brass, while also displaying his skills to other clubs in the league that had watched his meteoric rise up the profession. But then Young's own son, 9-year-old Jude, got sick with a COVID complication called Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome, or MIS-C.
