It's the end of an era for Little Drunken Chef. The street food-centric Indian restaurant, which had been at 91 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains since 2019 (and in Mount Kisco for seven years before it), closed earlier this year for what chef/owner Bonnie Saran thought would be a temporary reprieve. With "rising costs for everything," however and other complications, she said she wasn't able to sustain it. "Possibly, there will be a new owner or a new team of people," she said.

If anyone told West Nyack resident Vinnie Cann five years ago she'd be co-running a business, she would have said they were crazy. Crazier, still, she's running Birdie's Batch, a home-based heirloom baked goods/jam company with her youngest daughter, Sara — and loving it. "Sara was the beacon that guided the ship, and did so while being seven months pregnant," Cann said.

Uncle Cheef, a live music venue in Brewster known for showcasing top talent, along with having good food and cocktails, is closing after two years. The last day is May 10. The announcement was made with a heavy heart on Instagram by multi-instrumentalist, bandleader and lounge co-owner, Ian Hendrickson-Smith, aka, Uncle Cheef, who runs the venue with his wife and business partner Jenny Larisey.
