As the state’s primary election is coming in March, the time isshort to register to vote. If you want to vote, residents will needto make sure they are registered to vote by Monday, February 5th. All citizens of the registering will need to fill out a voter registrationapplication and submit it to the Voter Registrar’s Office. The office isat 113 West Beauregard downtown on the first floor of the Edd B. and Frances Frink Keyes Building.

In response to a $1 million challenge grant announced lastyear, Angelo State University has received new grants totalingA hundred and 50 thousand dollars from two nonprofit organizationsto help fund the ongoing renovations and updates to the ASU RodeoComplex at the San Angelo Fairgrounds. The Dallas-based CrystelleWaggoner Charitable Trust has awarded ASU a One Hundred thousanddollar grant, and the local Earnest and Dorthy Barrow Foundation hasawarded 50 thousand dollar grant.

During the 54th annual West Texas Rehabilitation telethon broadcastSaturday evening, Fred Key, Foster Communications President and CEOwas honored with the prestigious “Billy Mac Commitment” Award. The award was presented live on the air at the telethon held in Abilene. Key was presented with a plaque for his extraordinary, longtime supportand commitment to the Rehab Center. West Texas Rehab has beenserving the people of West Texas for more than 70 years.
