A 69-year-old Southfield man has been charged with raping two children who are family members, Oakland County prosecutors said on Friday. Lawrence Edward Miles is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree CSC. The charges are in connection with a series of assaults that occurred between 2024 and 2025 on the victims, a boy and a girl who are both under 10 years old, prosecutors said.

Federal agents arrested a truck driver headed for Canada on the Ambassador Bridge after they found $3 million worth of cocaine in his trailer toolbox early Friday. The driver, Gurshinder Singh, was stopped at 6:55 a.m. Friday as part of an enforcement operation by the Detroit Contraband Enforcement Team, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court.
