CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Lauren Coughlin won the CPKC Women's Open on Sunday for her first LPGA Tour title, pulling away from Haeran Ryu with a two-stroke swing on the par-3 17th. Tied for the lead after Ryu three-putted for bogey on the par-4 16th, Coughlin hit a 6-iron to 8 feet and birdied the 195-yard 17th. Ryu then missed a 3-foot par try to fall two shots back. "It was kind of a tweener of a club," Coughlin said.

American Lauren Coughlin is having the best season of her LPGA Tour career. So far this year, she has earned four top-10 finishes, including career-best finishes of T3 and solo fourth at two of the season’s major championships, The Chevron Championship and The Amundi Evian Championship, respectively. Continuing that run of strong play, Coughlin claimed the first-round lead at the CPKC Women’s Open with a 4-under 68.

Major champion Jennifer Kupcho made a hole-in-one on Sunday at Blythefield Country Club in the final round of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. The 26-year-old aced the par-3, 5th hole with a pitching wedge from 125 yards. It’s the second hole-in-one of Kupcho’s LPGA Tour career with her last ace coming in 2021 at the U.S. Women’s Open at Olympic Club.

Last week’s ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer winner Ashleigh Buhai is back at the top of the leaderboard through two rounds of this week’s Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, firing a 4-under 68 on Friday that saw her make six birdies and one double bogey. Buhai began the day on the par-5, 10th, opening with three consecutive pars before rattling off four consecutive birdies on holes 13 through 16.
