A woman died after contracting a rare brain infection from using tap water to clear sinuses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The 71-year-old woman was at a campground in Texas when she used tap water in a nasal rinse to clear her sinuses, the CDC said in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report published May 29.

Peyton was born at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Just 27 days later, she died after suffering a head injury from a fall at the hospital, according to the Franklin County Coroner's report.

One person is dead and another is injured after police say they were hit by a train in New Hampshire. Officers responded to train tracks in a wooded area just before 3:30 p.m. June 2, according to a news release from the Exeter Police Department. According to authorities, 42-year-old Alicia Leonardi and a friend were walking a dog along the train tracks when an Amtrak train began to approach. The dog, attracted by the sound of the train, ran onto the tracks, police said.

Authorities in Indiana are investigating after a 4-year-old drowned in a lake. On June 1, a 4-year-old child was visiting a home in Syracuse when they wandered away, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. At 4:45 p.m., the child's parent called 911 and reported them missing when they couldn't be found. Police arrived and minutes later found the child underneath a pier at Syracuse Lake in 3 feet of water, officials said.
