    An AMC movie theater in Methuen is temporarily closed after the city’s Department of Health, Human Services, and Inspections confirmed the presence of rodents inside the cinema, an official said. “The department received a complaint last week from a woman who stated she saw a rodent in the AMC Theater,” the city’s public health director, Caeli Tegan Zampach, said by email.

    When part of downtown Nantucket lost power Saturday morning, leaving dozens of restaurants unable to safely prepare food, the blackout fell on the busiest day of the 50th annual Nantucket Christmas Stroll.     A 76-year-old Pembroke woman died after she was hit by an SUV while crossing Main Street in Hanson on Tuesday evening, officials said. About 6:10 p.m., Hanson police received a 911 call reporting a vehicle striking a pedestrian near 22 Main St., just over the town line from Pembroke, the department and the Plymouth district attorney’s office said in a statement. Emergency responders found Donna Mark “lying on the roadway with obvious trauma to her lower extremities,” according to the statement.
