Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate educators for their hard work teaching, mentoring, and caring for kids in the community. Several people in the WESH 2 family grew up in Central Florida, and some of their teachers are still in the classroom today. So, WESH 2 decided to celebrate them with a surprise from their former students. Anchor Jesse Pagan went to Midway Elementary in Seminole County to surprise his fourth-grade teacher, Mr. Korkus.

Thousands of people die from opioid overdoses in Florida every year, including more than 200 in Volusia County alone last year. A nonprofit is trying to do its part by getting the medication that can fight an overdose into as many places as possible.

WESH 2 went inside the jail in Daytona Beach for the "Second Chance" job fair. It's a chance for non-violent inmates to meet, talk with employers and ultimately land jobs that will be waiting for them as soon as they get out of jail.
