    INDIANAPOLIS - More than 7,000 grams of drugs, along with nine firearms and $34,000 in cash were seized by police following a raid this week on the west side of Indianapolis. As a result of the raid, two men were arrested and charged. Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the drug bust, which occurred at an apartment complex on Westbury North Drive, came after citizens complained about the illegal activity.

    INDIANAPOLIS - A Hendricks County man is charged with murder in Marion County after he was wounded in a double shooting on Indy's east side. The shooting took place on the Sunday morning of Nov. 24, 2024, at approximately 2:35 a.m. 43-year-old Theodore Helpling III was shot and died on the scene along E. New York Street. Court records claim the violence began when the suspect and victim got into a fight outside the New Yorker Bar.

    INDIANAPOLIS - A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult with murder, attempted murder and attempted robbery following a deadly shooting at a gas station on Indy's northeast side. Court records filed Tuesday claim the juvenile suspect and victims agreed to meet at the gas station for a shoe sale. That sale quickly turned into a gun battle with multiple people firing shots. But so far the 17-year-old suspect is the only one facing criminal charges.

According to court records, the murder stemmed from a date that turned into a robbery. The victim’s family hopes both the 19-year-old woman accused of arranging the crime and her 18-year-old boyfriend, who allegedly committed the shooting, are held accountable for the senseless killing.
