Gov. Joe Lombardo received a court win Wednesday when the Nevada Supreme Court sided with him in his efforts to dismiss sanctions against him for an ethics violation over using his Clark County sheriff’s badge in campaign materials. The Nevada Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the District Court was incorrect in denying Lombardo’s motion for dismissal based on technical issues and ordered the case be sent back to the lower court for consideration.

Attorney General Aaron Ford announced Monday his office filed a lawsuit against YouTube, alleging it harms Nevada’s youth. The lawsuit makes similar allegations to previous lawsuits the office filed against Meta, TikTok and Snap, accusing YouTube of creating a “highly addictive and harmful platform” that targets Nevada’s youth, causing depression, anxiety and negative body image.

Expanding insurance coverage for critical medical procedures, allocating $133 million for attainable housing and instituting accountability for Nevada schools are among some of the biggest legislative policy proposals that are now law. The 2025 Legislature concluded at the beginning of June, and Gov. Joe Lombardo had 10 days to take action on the bills the Legislature passed. He ultimately signed 518 bills out of the 605 that he received, but he made history with his record-setting vetoes.

Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoed a bill aimed to protect such infertility treatments as in vitro fertilization. Senate Bill 217, sponsored by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro, would have established a statutory right to IVF treatment under Nevada law. It also would have increased protections for providers of fertility treatments and expanded coverage requirements for diagnosis and treatment of infertility.
