The University of Iowa appointed Saba Rasheed Ali as interim associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College. Ali is a professor of counseling psychology and associate dean for research in the College of Education. The search for a permanent dean was paused after the top finalist declined an offer. The University has named an interim dean of its graduate college, just a few weeks after the school's top finalist turned down an offer.

FRYFest, honoring former Hawkeye football coach Hayden Fry, returns to Iowa River Landing on Aug. 29. This year's theme, "Farm to Field: 40 Years of ANF," celebrates Fry's "America Needs Farmers" program. New additions include panels with ANF athletes and local farmers. FRYFest, the annual tradition named in honor of Hawkeye football coach Hayden Fry, is going back to its roots by celebrating the iconic "America Needs Farmers" initiative.

The plan includes new fieldhouses, fine arts additions, and athletic field upgrades across the district's high schools. Funding will also be allocated for a Center for Innovation, playgrounds, technology, and partnerships with Coralville and Iowa City for aquatic and athletic facilities. The proposal will be voted on by the school board on June 10th.
