    LAKE VIEW, SC (WBTW) – Lake View high school baseball is no stranger to winning at the highest level. One of the big reasons why is because of head coach Kip Herlong. After three decades of leading this team into season after season, he is officially retiring. Last week, Kip Herlong coached his final game as the head coach of the Lake View Wild Gators. After 32 season as the man in charge, he is stepping down. “It’s going to be very different from here on out,” Herlong said.

    On Thursday, the 13th ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers took the field for one final practice before their opening matchup against Fairfield in the Conway NCAA Regional. “We told these guys that we have to win tomorrow,” head coach Kevin Schnall said. “That’s important.” Relaxed, calm and prepared. That is how 13th ranked Coastal Carolina feels as they are set to host an NCAA Regional this weekend at Springs Brooks Stadium.

    MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – On Sunday, the 11th ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers defeated 12th ranked Southern Miss to claim their first Sun Belt Conference tournament championship since 2019. The Chants were led by senior Wells Sykes who finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI’s. Sophomores Walker Mitchell and Colby Thorndyke both added RBI’s for CCU.
