THC to add another facility in Willow Park

Texas Health Services is expanding in Willow Park. Parker County commissioners Monday approved County Judge Pat Deen to authorize the issuance of bonds relating to the new facility expected by 2028. Johnathan Leatherman, a lawyer representing Texas Health Resources, said the Internal Revenue Service requires them to get approval from the host site — in this case, Parker County — in order to be able to spend the tax-exempt money. “That’s $150 million that will be spent in Willow Park,” he said.
THC ban could have sizeable impact on local businesses

The future of a bill that would ban all products containing tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, teetered on Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk Monday. The last day of the Texas Legislature, Monday was the deadline for Senate Bill 3, which, if passed, would prohibit vapes, gummies and drinks containing any synthetic cannabinoid, which provides consumers similar effects to marijuana. Only Texans approved to use medical marijuana for certain conditions would be able to use low-level THC prescriptions.
