    HEALTH bosses are encouraging people to ensure they know where to get health care and advice over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Some NHS services such as GP surgeries and pharmacies may be closed or running a reduced service. Selected pharmacies will be available for prescriptions, non-urgent medical advice, and treatment of common ailments. Chemists now offer the Pharmacy First scheme - supplying medication for seven common conditions without the need for a prescription or seeing a GP first.

    A MARKET stall worker has thanked the “brilliant” community after she raised more than £1,000 by cutting her long hair off for charity in tribute to her beloved brother. Rather than a 'whodunnit', Kim Harwood, who hosts weekly themed music quizzes at The Roadhouse in Dinnington, has seen her crime thriller novel I Killed Lucy dubbed a 'who-didn’t-dunnit' after she came up with an “intriguing concept” for the book's premise.

    FROM bingo to boxing and moustaches to music – the family of a young mum-of-one undergoing revolutionary medical treatment has thanked the “unbelievable” community for its support. Sophie White (23) – mum to two-year-old son Remi – was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2023 and underwent surgery twice as well as multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, before further NHS surgery had to be ruled out earlier this year.

South Yorkshire Performance Academy – which received rave reviews for previous sell-out shows Everybody's Talking About Jamie (2023) and last year's production of Grease – will be performing Our House: The Madness musical from Tuesday, May 20 until Saturday, May 24.
