LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A jury has reached a verdict in the Lexington rape trial of former state lawmaker John Tilley. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that after five hours of deliberation, a jury found Tilley not guilty of rape. Tilley is a former Democratic representative. He was also a cabinet member under former Republican Governor Matt Bevin. Tilley was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at Lexington’s Marriott City Center in 2022.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The man accused of firing an AR-15 into the floor, killing his downstairs neighbor has pleaded guilty. Keith Denton was facing a murder charge in the death of 38-year-old Kadage Albert Byishim. The shooting happened in the 300 block of Quinton Court back on July 20, 2022. LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For music director Teddy Abrams, the Louisville Orchestra has always belonged to the people. The highs, the lows, the orchestra can reflect the community because it is part of the community. This year the orchestra hit a major high, scoring their very first Grammy nomination for “The American Project.” The composition is an original piano concerto, written by Abrams and featuring Yuja Wang playing the piano.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Downtown Partnership is announcing a new program designed to bring Louisvillians downtown to experience all that their city has to offer. The “Hometown Tourism Celebration” is highlighting 14 downtown organizations ranging from bourbon experiences to museums. LOUISVILLE, Ky. — At one point in time, cancer was thought of as the beginning of the end, but as time passed and science progressed, doctors have developed ways to fight the disease. Now, a new study from the CDC’s National Center of Health Statistics says that childhood cancer mortality rates have dropped by 24%, from 2.75 deaths per 100,000 in 2001 to 2.10 deaths per 100,000 in 2021.
That study focuses on young people under the age of 20.
