WISCONSIN (WAOW) — Blood tests that have high accuracy in diagnosing Alzheimer's disease could be used in the doctor's office soon. These blood tests have shown to be close to 90% accurate in identifying Alzheimer's patients who exhibit cognitive symptoms in primary care and specialized memory clinics according to the Alzheimer's Association.

WISCONSIN (WAOW) — Switching sleep schedules the day before or a couple days before the new school year begins can be rough on kids. UW Health Kids said that can lead to kids being grumpy and cranky and could hinder their performance in the classroom. They recommend kids get on the schedule they have for school a few weeks before class actually gets back. Doing that can lead to a better mood, improved memorization and a greater ability to switch from task to task quickly in a typical school day.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) — Dream Flights returned to Central Wisconsin for back to back days. First in Stevens Point Aug. 6, then in Waupaca on Aug. 7. Going up in the elements in a WWII biplane can be special for veterans, and if they served in the second World War and flew, it's likely the plane they were trained to fly in.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — Come Saturday, August 17, bikers will be revving up their engines because the "Bikers for Boobies" fundraiser will be back. The starting line is at The Mill Yard in Wausau. Registration starts at 9 a.m.Riders will go to several other stops ending at Chacks Day Break Bar & Grill. If people want to help out, but do not ride, they can buy raffle tickets at Chacks or make other monetary donations.

WHITING, Wis. (WAOW) — The Village of Whiting started a pilot program in tandem with Sustainable Stewards Farmstead & Goat Grazing who brought in 53 goats to help weaken and remove invasive species. They cleared a number of invasive species including honeysuckle, garlic mustard and while it is not invasive, but is undesirable, poison ivy. Invasive species can make things hectic for plants already naturally part of the land, so it is all the more important to remove and weaken them.
