Sinn Féin TD Joanna Byrne has raised the need for a driving test centre for Drogheda in the Dáil. “The statutory maximum waiting time for a driving test is ten weeks and no test centre in the country is meeting that or even coming close to it” she said.
“As there is no driving test centre in Drogheda, people in South Louth and East Meath have to travel to do their driving tests, usually to Navan or Dundalk.

Sinn Féin president Mary Lou McDonald was in Drogheda last night to launch the party’s three Louth candidates. At her last engagement of the day, the party leader was joined by candidates - sitting TD Ruairí Ó Murchú and councillors Joanna Byrne and Antóin Watters - at the event at the Marcy Hotel, where there was standing room only.
