    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Ross Hodge’s first recruiting class at WVU continues to fill up rapidly after an eighth verbal commitment in just over two weeks. Treysen Eaglestaff has committed to West Virginia after previously announcing his intention to play at South Carolina. On3 reported Eaglestaff’s commitment Sunday evening. Eaglestaff has played for three seasons at North Dakota. He has one season of eligibility remaining. Eaglestaff averaged 18.9 points per game in the 2024-2025 season.

Former Oklahoma State guard Phil Forte was added to the Mountaineers’ coaching staff on Saturday. “Phil is one of the best young coaches in the country,” Hodge said. “The work ethic and character that helped him be a great player in the Big 12 has carried into his coaching career.
