Veterans destroyed an American flag Saturday afternoon in Jefferson City. A crowd gathered around the parking lot of American Legion Post 5, where post staff held a ceremony to retire and destroy an American flag. The event is a tradition held every Flag Day at the post, according to Post Commander Hal Dulle. "It's especially good for the American Legion, because one of our precepts is honoring the flag and respecting the flag," Dulle said.
