They both served as doctors. And both lived in the same part of town, the largely Black and immigrant Old 8th Ward. It was wiped out more than a century ago to expand the Capitol Complex.

    A hiking and biking trail first envisioned more than a century ago and resurrected decades later could soon change. Last month, the Harrisburg City Council approved moving a housing project for homeless veterans off South Front Street near the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation building into the construction phase. The Tunnels to Towers Veterans Village is expected to house up to 84 veterans when it is completed next year.
