Trainer Mark Casse came into 2025, and more specifically into Monday's Grade 1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland, with an assignment from owner/breeder Tracy Farmer. "I guess it must have been about January," Casse said. "I said, 'What do you want to do?' He said, 'We would really like to win the Ashland.' I said, 'Okay, we'll come up with a plan to win the Ashland.' So, my job's done. Now there's this race they mentioned to me called the Oaks? I don't know."Casse was, of course, being facetious.

According to the official Kentucky Derby leaderboard, there are 25 horses still publicly with their hats in the ring. I've seen this movie too many times, though, to not assume Dallas Stewart has something hiding in his barn with 0 points that'll blow up tickets at a huge price.

MICHIGAN-BRED ALERT: Keeneland R3 - #6 He’s Elusive A 4yo son of Elusive Hour, one of the last Michigan sires still going. Like father, like son. https://t.co/qQkFV7sIuO
