TAMPA, FLA. (WSVN) - A driver accused of being three times over the legal alcohol limit found herself behind bars after a close call with a Tampa Police officer that was caught on video. The woman is accused of driving the wrong way when she nearly struck the officer. Dash camera footage captured the officer alerting officials that he saw the woman driving against traffic. “Wrong-way driver,” said the officer.

MIAMI (WSVN) - A man accused of setting a deadly fire made a court appearance. Jorge Marin-Calderin is charged with arson, second-degree murder and attempted murder. A judge denied Marin-Calderin’s bond on Tuesday. According to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies, he ignited several fires at a home near Northwest 53rd Street and 19th Avenue in Northwest Miami-Dade in September. Firefighters worked for hours to get the flames under control. Five people were inside the home at the time of the fire.

SOUTH MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A grass fire that broke out in South Miami-Dade burned 700 acres and was 50% contained as of Friday morning, according to the Florida Forest Service. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to battle the blaze at Southwest 344th Street near 117th Avenue, just before 2:30 p.m.The area is non-residential, just west of Turkey Point. The blaze does not pose a threat to any structures.
