SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Professional football is coming to Savannah, that’s according to Adam McLean, who is the commissioner of a new pro football fall league called: Major League Football. Savannah will serve as the host city for the entire state of Georgia in the new 24-team league. However, some of the important information is yet to be determined for the Georgia franchise. The franchise does not have a name. The commissioner saying the league has filed three patents for a name that are pending.

First year general manager James Gladstone has made a significant effort to bolster the unit that protects quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Gladstone accepted the general manager position on Feb. 21. Then, three weeks later, on the first day of free agency, the team announced eight signings, three on the offensive line, which was the highest of any position group.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Recently hired New Hampstead boys basketball coach laid out his vision for the program in an interview with WSAV. Bakari Bryant is back in Savannah after accepting the position. The Savannah native comes over from Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia where he experienced success. Two seasons ago, the Trojans won the region and advanced to the state semifinals, before losing to Johnson.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WSAV) – The Jacksonville Jaguars completed the fourth day of offseason training activities (OTAs). There’s a lot of buzz surrounding the Jags after they traded up to the Number two overall draft pick and selected Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. There have been a lot of discussions about whether or not the two-way player will compete on both sides of the ball in the NFL. Head Coach Liam Coen said Hunter practiced for the first time with defense on May 21.
