PALATKA, Fla. – The body of a missing kayaker was found Friday morning in the St. Johns River, southeast of the Memorial Bridge in Palatka, according the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Jeremiah Beck, 43, was last seen on Wednesday evening in the St. Johns River. According to the FWC, his body was found around 8:30 a.m. Friday. “FWC extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Beck’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the FWC said.

Christina Barnes was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury who fixed her punishment as life in prison without parole along with a $10,000 fine. Her official sentencing will be held July 22. TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa woman is in custody and accused of killing her 2-year-old child. Christina Barnes is charged with one count of first-degree murder by child abuse.
