The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season is officially underway, running from June 1 through November 30. With Annapolis’ location along the Chesapeake Bay, city officials are encouraging residents and businesses to take proactive steps to prepare for potential storms. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this year’s season is expected to be above average due to ongoing La Niña conditions and warmer-than-usual Atlantic waters.

The Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra has announced the launch of a new community-focused initiative: the Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra Chorus. This free, non-auditioned chorus is open to singers ages 14 and up, welcoming participants from all backgrounds and musical experience levels. Rehearsals are set to begin in October, and the chorus will make its debut performance during the holiday season in December.
