The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. on Route 1 at the Agawam Diner. Two ambulances were called to the scene to evaluate occupants. Police were seen giving a young woman a field sobriety test in the diner’s parking lot. First responders later radioed that she had been taken into custody. Route 1 was closed while first responders took care of the situation.

It was held at the Veterans Memorial on South Main Street Monday morning. “Honoring our fallen is a lifelong journey,” VFW commander Larry Jordan told the group. In addition to speeches recognizing the men and women who lost their lives in the armed services, the program included patriotic songs from the Ipswich High School Chorus and band.

The crash happened around 4:05 p.m. on Haverhill Street (Route 133) at the Agawam Diner. After they arrived, firefighters radioed that they were evaluating one patient in the diner’s parking lot. That person declined to be taken to hospital, they said. Both vehicles appeared to be traveling east when the accident happened.
