TOLEDO, Ohio — Eight children and four adults were displaced by a house fire in central Toledo Tuesday night, according to Toledo Fire & Rescue crews at the scene. There were no injuries sustained in the incident on Elliott Avenue just south of Bancroft Street. TFRD put the affected family in touch with the American Red Cross. The fire started in an upstairs bedroom, and TFRD crews responded around 9 p.m., containing the flames to that location.
Pettisville schools closes community recycling center due to repeated misuse

PETTISVILLE, Ohio — Pettisville schools has indefinitely closed its community recycling center effective Tuesday after people have routinely disregarded what can be dropped off at the site. Two thousand pounds of non-recyclable material, drug paraphernalia and even a live animal that then bit a student have been dropped off at the center over the course of the last year, Superintendent Josh Clark said in a social media post.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club is working with Toledo Public Schools and the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office to teach gun safety to youths in response to a viral standoff in February between authorities in New Mexico and two children armed with a gun.
