EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WVLT) - For the second straight night, the Knoxville Ice Bears suffered an overtime loss to the Evansville Thunderbolts. On Thursday night, it ended Knoxville’s season. Aidan Litke scored 90 seconds into the first overtime, helping the Thunderbolts win their first President’s Cup in team history, defeating Knoxville 2-1. Down 1-0 in the third, Brendan Dowler scored his first goal of the postseason to tie the game.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WVLT) - Powell High School can add a first-round pick to its football resume. Walter Nolen, a 2022 graduate of Powell High School was chosen in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the 15th overall selection by the Arizona Cardinals. Nolen signed with Texas A&M out of high school as a 5-star recruit in the class of 2022. He made 11 tackles for loss and five sacks in his two seasons in College Station. Nolen transferred to Ole Miss ahead of the 2024 season.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Ice Bears fell in game one of the SPHL Championship Series to the Evansville Thunderbolts, 4-3 in double overtime. The loss puts the Ice Bears into a must-win situation on Thursday night in Evansville. Knoxville is now 0-3 in home games this postseason. The Bears are a perfect 4-0 in both road games and elimination games since the postseason began. Stephen Mundinger made 56 saves for the Ice Bears.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee added its third transfer portal addition of the offseason Wednesday in former LSU forward Jersey Wolfenbarger. Wolfenbarger appeared in 36 games for the Tigers last season, making nine starts. The Arkansas native averaged 4.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in her lone season in Baton Rouge. A 6’5” forward, Wolfenbarger began her collegiate career at Arkansas where she signed as the 7th overall recruit in the class of 2021.
