Coming off its second open date of the season, Tennessee looks to improve to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in SEC play. The Big Orange is playing its sixth night game of the season with kickoff set for 7:45 p.m. on SEC Network. This game also marks the return of Tennessee’s “Dark Mode” uniforms, which will be worn for the fifth time since their introduction in 2021.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The No. 11 Vols (5-1, 2-1 SEC) are poised for an all important SEC showdown with the 7th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (5-1, 2-1 SEC) on Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Defensive coordinator Tim Banks has had his unit playing at a high level through the first half of the regular season. Tennessee has held each of its opponents under 20 points in six straight games to start a season for the first time since 1969.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Jahmai Mashack of the University of Tennessee will serve as the chair of the 2024-25 SEC Men’s Basketball Leadership Council. This will be Mashack’s third year as the Volunteers' representative in the group. After holding the vice chair position in 2023-24, his peers voted him as the chair this year. In addition, Mashack is the SEC’s representative on the NCAA Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee (MBOC) Student-Athlete Engagement Group for the second consecutive year.

ShareKNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Ice Bears will open the 2024-25 season with a preseason game on Friday, October 11 at 7:05 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum against the Huntsville Havoc. The game will be the first of two games at the Coliseum that night as the undefeated Tennessee Ice Vols will face the Florida Gators immediately following the conclusion of the Knoxville-Huntsville clash. Training camp began Tuesday, Oct. 8. Training camp practices are closed to the public.
