FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — A City of Fairmont police officer remained jailed Thursday a $100,000 cash or surety bond set in a case in which he's alleged to have sexually abused a child. Officer Christopher Guinup was arrested and charged Wednesday in the case investigated by Fairmont Detective Sgt. William Piggott. Guinup entered a not guilty plea and is presumed innocent. Guinup applied for court-appointed counsel, but no attorney has filed a notice of appearance.

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — Palatine Park's free summer concert series kicked off last month, and while only a few shows have been held so far, Marion County Administrator Kris Cinalli said it's been a wonderful season for music in Fairmont. Cinalli, who books and oversees the summer concert series, said that each show held at the park so far, including tribute acts honoring classic greats like The Doors, Elton John and Metallica, has drawn roughly 1,000 people to the venue.
