A woman was killed in a Hancock County two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon. Hancock County deputies were called to County Road 600 East and US 40 just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Hancock County Fatal Accident Crash Team was also called to the scene. No names of the drivers involved have been released as of this report. An adult female was the driver of a 2017 Acura that was traveling north on 600 East and had a stop sign at US 40.

The City of Shelbyville is looking at stricter enforcement of property upkeep by both business and residential owners. At the same time, the city notes that it's also maintaining the understanding that some owners difficulties in financially doing so. Mayor Scott Furgeson says passage of the ordinance gives the city more control when enforcing property upkeep. But the mayor says he knows that some are not in a financial position to handle some repairs or other needed improvements.

Memorial Day Services are scheduled to begin in the 10 a.m. hour in front of the Shelby County Courthouse. Colonel Scott Oden will serve as the guest speaker for Monday’s event. A Kokomo native, Oden graduated from Ball State in 2003 while also earning the distinction of being at ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate. Colonel Oden’s career began in 2004 when he attended the Aviation Officer Basic Course and UH-60 “Blackhawk” Flight School XXI qualification course at Fort Novosel, Alabama.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Law Enforcement held a ceremony at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis to remember fallen Conservation Officers and recognize those who are currently serving for their achievements. Indiana Conservation Officers are law enforcement officers for the DNR. The DNR Division of Law Enforcement is the oldest law enforcement agency in Indiana and has a total of 214 officers.
