    ST. PAUL, Minn. (Valley News Live) - More than 550 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard are saying their goodbyes as they prepare for deployment. The 34th Infantry Division, known as the Red Bulls, will start a 10-month long deployment to the Middle East in Feb. 2024. on Saturday, Dec. 2, the soldiers and their families will go to a Family Preparation Academy to get prepared for the deployment.

    EAST GRAND FORK, Minn. (Valley News Live) - One family isn’t able to stay in their home after a kitchen fire. The East Grand Forks Fire Department was called to the house fire at 26343 410th Ave. S. after noon on Monday, Oct. 30. When crews arrived on scene, they saw smoke coming from the home and eventually found a fire in the kitchen. Authorities say there were able to quickly put out the flames, but not before it caused heavy fire and smoke damage to the house.

    CROOKSTON, Minn. (Valley News Live) - 911 lines are down in Polk County, but your call will still go through. On Friday, Oct. 27 around 2 p.m., the Sheriff’s Dept. sent out a statement, saying the lines are experiencing a temporary outage, but your 911 calls will be answered by Norman County.
