MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Several emergency management offices in the Mid-South are preparing for the severe weather expected over the next few days. According to the Shelby County Office of Preparedness and Emergency Management Agency, crews will be stationed at the Operations Center to monitor the weather in real-time. Shelby County officials will remain in contact with municipalities, other public safety agencies within the county, and surrounding communities in the Memphis Metro area.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Nearly 24 hours after a shooting incident at Academy Sports + Outdoors, Jonesboro police released limited details about what happened. According to a call log released by the Jonesboro Police Department, someone called police to report that a gun had been fired shortly after noon. The caller said that the individual who fired the shot told them he was a law enforcement officer.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Crews are working to restore power to 2,500 CWL customers in Jonesboro. Slade Mitchell with Jonesboro City Water and Light told K8 News a vehicle crashed into a power pole leading to the outages. Jonesboro Police Public Information Specialist Sally Smith confirmed the crash at Harrisburg Road and Stroud Street Monday afternoon. GREENE COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - A Region 8 dive team is responding to Lake Frierson to search for a man who fell into the water. Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder confirmed they got a call around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24. Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the sheriff’s office are already at the scene. They have also called in the Craighead County Sheriff’s Dive Team to assist in the search. K8 News has a crew on the scene gathering more details.
