Bakersfield man Luis HernandezLopez, 29, was driving a Peterbilt truck eastbound on Chimney Rock Road while towing a trailer containing powdered limestone. At about 8:35 a.m., the Peterbilt crashed on Chimney Rock Road east of Cypress Mountain Road.

February 16, 2025 By JOSH FRIEDMANA convertible Chevrolet Corvette crashed into a tree in San Luis Obispo late Saturday night. Shortly before 11 p.m., the driver of the Corvette failed to negotiate the roundabout on Tank Farm Road because of excessive speed, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department. January 27, 2025 By JOSH FRIEDMANFollowing a pair of alleged DUI crashes over the weekend, the San Luis Obispo Police Department is warning residents about the danger of driving under the influence. The first crash occurred Friday on Broad Street by Orcutt Road. Officers arrested the driver of a black Toyota sedan for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after colliding with a white Volkswagen, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

January 21, 2025 By JOSH FRIEDMANOfficers arrested a 65-year-old man in Morro Bay on Sunday after he allegedly fled in a truck that he stole from a Ford dealership in San Luis Obispo. Shortly before 11 a.m., Morro Bay police received a stolen vehicle alert from the city’s automated license plate reader system. The alert notified officers of a reported stolen vehicle inside the city limits, according to the Morro Bay Police Department.

January 13, 2025 By JOSH FRIEDMANThe Santa Barbara Police Department has announced that one of its sergeants lost his home in the Southern California Eaton Fire. A Navy veteran and former SWAT team member, the sergeant had been living with his wife and children in a home destroyed by the Eaton Fire, which is burning in the San Gabriel Mountains and Altadena area of Los Angeles County.
